After a few requests for a page like this, we've produced the Quik Start page to help new drivers figure out how to get started in TPTCC Road racing.

First you should know a few things about TPTCC. We are the oldest simulator road racing league, and we encourage a very friendly atmosphere (which is why we're still around). If you've ever been to a club racing day at a local track, that is TPTCC...plenty of people who are more than happy to help you out with setups, give you a friendly slap on the back, and crack a few jokes. For those who may be real newbies...we don't do oval/stockcar racing...we are road-racing only. As well, we don't care if you can't get around the track that well at first...there are plenty of people willing to help, and there are many TPTCC racers who have graduated to a championship from learning good racecraft.

Here is the info on our current race events...

  • We race every 2 weeks during the season on Friday evenings
  • Official practice starts at 10:00 PM Eastern US time, but people usually show up a few hours prior to that time.
  • Qualifying starts at 10:30 PM Eastern

You can still get on our server and practice at any time (24x7) and you will also probably find a few people practicing during weeknights. Our races typically last about an hour or so. Please note that we run a donation-only server, nobody is required to pay to race, we just hope that you can donate whatever you feel like for your racing fun.

Now the basics to getting signed up, in order...

    1. First read our rules page. You may decide you don't like racing the way we race, so make sure you're ok with it before you start.
    2. You must have a copy of the rFactor racing sim, available from www.rFactor.net.
    3. You must have a copy of The Pits/RSR NAGT mod, available here (you can select the hi or lo res version).
    4. Now you can sign up. Go to our TPTCC league forums and look for a sign-up thread. You'll need this information in the post:
      # full name. Please note that you must use your actual name for racing in TPTCC...no nicknames/online names.
      # car number (pick 3, in case some are taken)
      # team name
      # car manufacturer & model (from the NAGT mod
      # city, state, country
      # email address (you don't need to provide it, just make sure that your email address listed on the board is a working one that you check)
    5. An admin will send you back the information about how to get into the private TPTCC forums, and you are more than welcome (in fact, encouraged) to sign in to the TPTCC league forums and introduce yourself.
    6. Paint up a car and attach it to the sign-up thread in the forums. If you need help painting, just make a post requesting help...people will be glad to help you with paintschemes or painting, and we also typically have a few default cars in our carset so you can pick one if you want.
    7. Grab the latest carset & updates from the downloads page.
    8. Practice the upcoming tracks, and if you need help, feel free to ask! You can show up early to race nights and usually get a few hours of practice there as well.
    9. Have fun! This is encouraged above all else!
