TPTCC League Winter 2010
~ Driver Points System ~
~ REWARDS Weight and Team Compensation ~

Here is a description of the points system used to score races and determine the season champions in Groups A and B.
The league incorporates the REWARDS Weight and Team Compensation system similar to that used in the Speed World Challenge-GT Series. Weight will be added or subtracted based on finishing position.
The driver's point totals and assigned weight adjustment for the next event are posted on the Group A and Group B Standings pages.

Driver Championship Points System

Drivers are awarded points for finishing position in Touring races (50-60 min) according to the following schedule:
1 - 60
2 - 56
3 - 52
4 - 48
5 - 44
6 - 42
7 - 40
8 - 38
...
Additionally, 2 pts are awarded for pole position and 2 pts for Hard Charger (advancing the most positions).
For Sprint events where two shorter races are run, points awarded are one-half of the above for each race.

REWARDS Weight and Team Compensation

The REWARDS weight system assigns added or removed weight based on finishing position according to the following schedule. (The weight cannot exceed 200 lbs. or go below the vehicle base weight).
1st +60 lbs.
2nd +40
3rd +20
4th  0
5th -20
6th -40
7th+ -60
For Sprint events where two shorter races are run, weights assigned are one-half of the above for each race.

The Team Compensation System allows drivers finishing outside the top 50% of finishing positions to remove 50 lbs. each time until a maximum of -100 lbs. off  base weight is reached, or the driver finishes within the top 50% of finishing positions. When a driver finishes within the top 50%, 50 lbs. will be added back on each time until the driver reaches the base weight.
For Sprint events where two shorter races are run, a maximum of 50 lbs. will be removed or added for the event.

A driver is not eligible to remove weight, or required to add it back on, unless the driver is classified as a finisher.

Any driver that has been required to carry REWARDS weight during the season is not eligible to take advantage of the Team Compensation System.
